Now, a lot of house manufacturers in the UK do stick build, that means your back garden is there factory work space, Say that’s ok for timber to get a bit wet, well, that may be the case if they manufacture your tiny house with cheap timber, but we use only the best KD C24, and it is unwise to get KD which means Kiln Dried timber wet, its KD because it must last minimum 100 years+ and C24 is a visual grade, that means its quality through and through.

So, you have learned a lot in this blog about what a tiny house should be manufactured from, only really, as you want it to last a long time and to be very energy efficient.

BUT THEY COST!!!!!!

Twinskin Flat Packed Log Cabins are perfect for that extra-insulated building in the garden, easy to get into the garden, and easy to assemble, and our windows and doors are not some ghastly PVC or awful cheap put together in a hurry affair , ours are superb quality manufactured from Joinery glue, which means no cold bridging, 28mm glass, and all German hardware; they are simply the best in the industry as a standard window, most companies would charge you £1000 a double door and 700 for a double window if you wanted them manufactured As a matter of note, I designed the twin skin system and have the first ever 44mm x 44mm with a 50mm gap in the garden, it’s a 3m x 2m dog kennel! And that’s why we built the first; obviously, there were no windows or doors, but it has 2 rooms.

Lots of people make the mistake in thinking that a dog goes into his or her kennel and likes the cold air running over him or her all night, they don’t; a dog needs to go into a two-room kennel with a heated floor for winter, where they can go around the corner and then in the back, and because of the base, walls and roof are insulated, the flooring is made from non-bug carpeting, and the whole pent roof lifts off, so cleaning is easy if you have a good friend that will help you lift it off, as it is insulated and has gutters attached, etc, but Your best friend (dog) is as snug as a bug in a rug!

The Twinskin system is perfect for going up two stories, and it’s easy to adjust the amount of insulation (foil back) you add to the Twin Skin Log Cabin. we can increase the thickness of the logs and insulation, depending on what you need, where you are, and what kind of conditions you want the cabin to cohabitate in. in. It’s amazing to think that you can have 44mm x 44mm or 70mm x 70mm; we can even do 90mm x 90mm, which would make the walls 280mm thick, There is nothing that would blow that over, we would rod itif it’s needed to the concert base, and that’s the beauty of our twin skins.

We can also manufacture shutters for the windows and doors if you put them in a holiday park surroundings and wanted to leave them over the winter empty, and unattended, you can shutter them up, or if you’re on the Greek Islands, your customers want to go to sleep; just shut the shutters and the sun disappears. our Twinskin Insulated Log Cabins are so versatile and cost-effective.

We Manufacture the best, we build to customers request, so everything you see in this video, , everything to light fixtures, wiring etc, was done to the way the customer asked. Summer Cottage -log cabins

Through out Finland there are a staggering 152.000 lakes, around these pristine lakes are situated many thousands of sauna summer cottages.

Sauna in Finland is seen as the ideal way of rejuvenating the skin, getting rid of toxins and relaxing after a hard days work. Baths are not a common place in Finnish houses or apartments.

Therefore, when the Fin’s travel to their summer cottages at the weekends, or on their annual leave, sauna is a huge part of that vacation experience.

Incorporating a sauna into a summer cottage needs to be thought out well, as the whole family will participate, which means their could be as many as 10 to 20 people enjoying an evening in the woods, having BBQ a few beers, Sauna and midnight swim.

Around the summer, cottages could be many small interlocking log cabins to accommodate friends and family, so interlocking log cabins, or timber frame cabins are very popular in Finland.

Most summer cottages are fully insulated, and some can be as large as 250 sq meters, depending on the plot size! Triple Glazing and strong roofs are necessary due to snowfall, below temperatures, and the occasional bear waking up and foraging, and the most popular route into a cottage by bears is through the roof!

It is very important that when manufacturing a summer cottage one begins to think about what kind of timber to use, in the old days it would have been solid logs, round, hand sawn and quite a crude structure. More refined summer cottage cabins came to fruition in the 60’s and 70’s, and then in the 80’s quality interlocking structures were popping up all over the lakeshores. These are manufactured from quality pine logs and from then until now nothing much has changed in design or quality.

We have looked at traditional summer cottages and believe that by using an Engineered 220mm x 200mm Glulam log, this will be sufficient to keep the cold out, will stand the test of time with the scorching summers and extremely cold winters.

We have taken some time in redesigning a few of the most popular designed summer cottages, and giving them a make over….
