Park Homes and Timber Frame Holiday Lodges

Quality Holiday Lodges

Park Homes by Logcabins.lv

Over many, many Years Domestic type Park Homes, Caravans, Mobile Units Holiday Lodges have changed very little; sadly, they are still manufactured to a specification that is quite honestly laughable, and can deprecate as much as £7.500 a year!

When looking to purchase a Park Home, or a Holiday Home, maybe a Mobile Home or a holiday Lodge to put on your farm, or free hold, you need to think twice before purchasing anything that is built- manufactured to the BS3632 – 2005.

What is almost criminal is the way that these units are sold, the word Home is used too frequently in sales material of companies who sell these inadequate piles of garbage. They are not a home from home, your house increases in value, your Park Home built under the BS 3632 does not.

Structural Timbers is another word used a lot in their sales material. Yet, any mention of what graded material is used in the manufacturing is missing from their literature!

In addition, the sentence, We will Build your Dreams, should be replaced with, we will fleece you for everything you have and more!

Your Park Home should be an investment, it should be your Home, and there is no law that states your Park Home cannot be manufactured to the UK building regulations. The only reason why they don’t is profit!

So why do companies that manufacture park homes use chipboard, plywood, and PVCu windows and door? Why is the unit build quality so bad!

Its quite simple really, they want repeat business, so they manufacture absolute garbage that lasts 10 years and then needs replacing.

I know many companies will refute this, but it’s so simple to find the truth on value of second hand Park Homes, its called ebay!

We searched and noticed that at least 99.9% of park homes loose the value of 80% of their worth in the first 7-9 years!

A quality long lasting park home – lodge needs the ingredients of quality timber, quality insulation, built by a skilled workforce that manufactures not just park homes but houses, hotels, schools and all manner of other type timber constructions.

And what materials you use in the process of the build is so incredibly important.

The UK has a shortage of timber, most forests have long gone, and the UK imports nearly 87% of all its timber from abroad! This means that after the timber has been delivered to the Park Home manufactures based in the UK. It’s costly and normally the grade is not just below par, its awful, and expensive, compared to what LogCabins.LV use.

C24 graded FSC 45m x 195m timber frame work (stud work) in the UK is near on impossible to find, also graded 45m x 145m graded timber also is very hard to find, as most companies use in the Park Home industry 73mm x 36mm frame work, stud work! Which is half of what should be used to give the Park Home strength and longevity.

Also there are many types of insulation, because every Park Home-Mobile Home- Holiday Lodge from logcabinslv.co.uk is in reality a bespoke, we look at your budget and our full time architects will give you the best specification to meet your budget.

Below is a normal specification for our Park Homes, Holiday Lodges. This specification is way past anything on offer in the UK. All timber is graded, C24.

Highly Insulated Timber Frame Housing

As one of the largest timber frame house suppliers in Norway, we are often asked to manufacture highly insulted timber frame buildings for the northern most part of the country. Norwegians are very much into keeping the landscape looking natural and designing their properties to blend into the countryside.

Norway has one of the highest build regulation standards in the world. TEK 10.

Three times that of the UK and most of Europe.

Insulation values are a major part of this high standard, but also on par with insulation is build quality. Visual Graded CE KD C24 is the only grade expectable for all weight bearing walls, roof etc. Most of Europe and UK use Visual Graded C16, which is the bottom most part of the Visual Grade Scale. (Please ask your builder which grade he is thinking of using in your timber frame build).

Norwegians love to use sedum roofing out in the wilds, as this offers amazing insulation properties to the timber frame or Log Cabin dwellings and gives the building a natural feel, and also brings natural into the design, so it’s a plus, plus , plus!

Sedum roofing is a very heavy alternative to steal tiles, or shingles. All our timber frame buildings are built regardless if they are erected in Northern Norway or Essex with strength in every part of the construction.

If you are looking for a quality timber frame building-house-office-garage-park home-mobile-granny annex- etc, please give us a call or send us an email.

Timber frame and Log Cabins

This Blog today is just to speak quickly about timber frame buildings and log cabins, and how they are greatly different.

There are quite a few agents/dealers in the UK- Europe that will offer you a log cabin, and call it a residential building. But the difference between the two is night and day.

A residential building, timber frame, is designed to be a 12-month a year dwelling. A single skin log cabin is not.

In certain countries where rainfall is minimal and the season is hot then very cold, then a single skin 220mm Scandinavian log cabin is great, but in some parts of Europe-UK where the weather is very damp, this kind of structure has its limitations due to rainfall.

When a company offers you a single skin log cabin say in 70mm solid timber and offers to clad the building inside, this still does not get around the moisture issue.

This year we have had hundreds of people call us and ask us if our twin skin log cabins (solid timber) will meet building regulations, and sat tests, etc, and the honest answer is yes, but we need to redesign the whole cabin. And we 9 times out of 10 ask them to look at the timber frame selection, which we have over one hundred designs in our gallery.

Timber frame is truly the only way to go if you are on a budget, and you are looking for super insulted building, which will also last the test of time.

Below are some photos of Timber Frame buildings we have manufactured and built.

If you are looking for a mobile home, Park Home, or a Quality Retreat, please give us a call.

Fully Insulated Residential Park Homes

When purchasing your Fully Insulated Residential Park Home, you must as we always say, ask for all the information, from floor to ceiling, and walls to windows and doors, not just what the company you are thinking of purchasing your residential park home supply. If the wording winterized comes up in their advertising, question this vigorously, also about timber thicknesses, and timber grades. This can be an awful task, but by asking all the right questions, you’ll get the Residential Building- Park Home of your dreams, as most park homes in the UK and Europe are constructed with a build code or similar to the dreaded BS 3632, this is a sink hole build code, which reminds us of time share! Pay a lot and get very, very little in return.

Our quality starts from the very fiber of the timber, which is the highest grade available, which is selected for your residential building, Park Home. We only use the best, and then we go even further by over sizing out timbers, insulation values and so much more! The only surprise you’ll get from our quality timber frame buildings is that you get your investment is safe.

Our new range of residential park homes will be way above building code, the euro 5 build code is very adequate in some ways, but it does not go far enough, so we have decided to beef that code up, by applying further insulation and triple glazed windows and doors, our aim is to make our residential park home timber frame units way, way above any code that may come into effect with in the next 10 years, this being the case, your investment is safe, as the building will need no further work carried out if thermal values change. Which are one-reason park homes loose their value so quickly.

Plus our ex works price to the customer will be a jaw dropping experience for all concerned in the industry and public, as many question will be asked why is a building 6.7m x 18.0 m costing 80 to 100.000 pounds when our price is half, and in Euros, and to a building specification that almost triples what is available on the market at present! So please watch this space…Please Send us an email or give us a call.

Timber Frame Residential Park Home 3 Bedrooms 6.7m x 18.0m

Our residential timber frame park home buildings are not the average rubbish that is feed constantly to the public. Sorry for starting this blog attacking the establishment, but we truly believe the BS 3632 build code to which 99.9% of shed manufactures, or so called Park Home Manufactures abide by is truly not fit for purpose, and in the end you will see zero return on your investment of thousands of pounds / Euros as this build code is truly meant for only the manufacturer to earn from. The BS 3632 build code should be obsolete!

Timber Grading is just so immensely important where timber frame buildings-Park Homes-Glulam Log Cabins etc are concerned.

This 6.7 m x 18.0 m 3 bed residential Timber Frame Park Home is possibly the most sought after size in the industry, boasting 3 beds, 2 bathrooms, lounge, and kitchen, and other useful rooms.

We have a build team fully CIS registered, we are also have tradesmen’s that work part of our build team that offer all trades and are all registered tradesmen, Electric, Gas etc. Our Steel Sub frame is hand built, and absolute quality!

Attached are quite a few important photos, you will notice that all the timber on the panels are graded, and the grade is C24, 99.9% of companies use C16, which is the bottom end of grades, and the cheapest of timber, which does not seem to reflect in most companies prices.

More to follow….Do not settle for less!

Residential Park Homes – by logcabinslv.co.uk –

Residential Park Homes

Timber Frame Buildings 16

Seriously, have you looked at what is on offer in today’s market where residential Park Homes are concerned? They are boxes with windows. Boring, and about as aesthetic as a shoebox.

Over the years, we have seen a shift in design from the standard, awful looking, Eco Killing Poorly Insulated Standard Caravan, towards a more residential looking structure made from thin timber framing and gallery windows. Aesthetically nicer looking but still poorly insulated and way over priced.

Logcabins.lv design team once again brings to market an awesome newly inspired design that not just makes all other residential cabins or park homes look “yesterdays fashioned” but kicks ass where high insulation values and low pricing are concerned.

When buying a park home, or a static caravan, your main concern is that you have a warm comfortable homely environment, with all the mods and cons! (But should investment also be a factor?) And that your investment will reap rewards on turn of sale!

No doubt, most of you have done your homework and have looked at the second hand value of the Park Home units you are looking to purchase. And sadly you will discover that 99.9% of them are only worth a mere fraction of the original cost!

Our thoughts on this problem have pushed us to start to design Park homes that not only cost a lot less, but will hold their value, looking at what is available on the market at present we believe our build standards are way in front of anyone now and in the future.

Lets look closely what is available on the market to date.

After visiting 10 websites offering park homes, we have found none of them actually mention construction, only stating Plastic Windows, Doors, and a 40-year life on the metal roof, which is standard to all metal shingles. A lot of companies show modern furniture, bathrooms, and kitchens, most of which is either purchased from IKEA or China! If you take away all the pretty pictures of inside, what are you left with? Yep! a very thin, flimsy box with UVPC windows and doors. Starting price 80.000 pounds plus! Amazing value!!

We don’t think so!

It amazes us, when you look at what companies write on their website, they use wording like, amazing Finnish Pine, what is amazing about Finnish Pine? Seriously? Its Pine, amazing Pine comes from Northern Siberia. Its tighter grained and a lot less knotty.

Educating the public and being honest about what is really on sale is missing in this business, its “time-share” looking for another avenue to sell unsuspecting pensioners the dream!

Most of us saved as young adults to buy our first house; we then sold that and bought something bigger to accommodate the family, the profit from our first house helped us buy bigger, climbing the ladder, and all through our lives we invest in our property, adding extensions, summer rooms etc, all of us invest in the future for our children.

So we retire, sell the house, and look for an idyllic spot to have some calm in life, so you look on the internet and spot a park home offering amazing views and quality park home units, with photos showing fields and meadows, ponds and lakes.

You’re then given a brochure with amazing photos of park homes, looking modern, amazing, and as always sited on the park of your choice, and the cost for all this is starting at 145.000 pounds.

So, what actually are you getting for your money?

If your Park Home is 6m x 20m then a as part of the price you are given a plot of land on lease to stand your residential park home.

Questions to ask, is your residential park home highly insulated?

Is your park home an investment?

What kind of materials is used to manufacture your park home?

Will your park home qualify in say 10 years against any new regulations that might come from the EU regarding U vales, or building codes?

Is your park home made from building materials that will last 10 years? Are they graded? And what grade?

Is the furniture inside your new park home really worth the money it’s costing you?

What kind of insulation value does your Park home have?

Lots and lots of questions, and do you really need to ask them, well! simple answer to that is Yes!

Would you buy a car with faulty brakes?

Would you sleep in a room that was damp?

Would you buy a house that costs 10 pounds a day to heat?

Would you buy a house that would loose you money daily?

Would you buy a house that would need complete renovation with in say 3 years to meet building codes-regulations?

The answer to all these questions is NO!

We call our Park Homes” Houses” , because they should be of that standard of build?

Park Homes, are homes, they should be an investment, and secure, warm and homely. They should not loose money! Logcabins.lv is about to kick the trend and offer quality, high values of insulation, with the highest graded timber, laminated windows and doors with triple glassing as standard and at very competitive pricing

Our New Range of Insulated Siberian Clad Laminated Park homes are not just innovative, modern, and hardy, but they are so way in the future for quality of construction and graded material it will take the rest of the industry and doubling of their prices to catch us up!
